Helping people, their families and carers live with and beyond life challenging illnesses, from diagnosis onwards.
St. Luke’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people living in the Basildon and Thurrock districts with any life threatening, life limiting disease. This often means cancer but also includes other illnesses that are no longer curative, such as Heart Failure, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or Motor Neurone Disease for example. Care and support is offered through a wide range of services that are tailor made to meet the needs of individuals. This care is extended to carers, families and friends.
St Luke’s Hospice is also the Service provider for the South Essex Lymphoedema Service. As the service provider we are pleased to be able to extend our established Lymphoedema clinical care, expertise and support throughout South Essex including , Thurrock, Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Southend, Canvey, Castlepoint and Rochford.
Services are for age 16 years upwards except where stated otherwise, (ie: Lukes Counselling Service for Children & Young People)
St. Luke’s Hospice is not just a building but a special way of caring for you. Our expert staff understand the impact a life limiting illness can have, not only on the person diagnosed but also on their family and friends.
Support and care is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering over 25 different services. We work closely with GP’s, our local hospitals, Community nurses and other health care and social care professionals.
Care is flexible and tailored to each patient. Our doctors, Physiotherapists, Lymphoedema Clinical Specialists, nurses, complementary therapists, social workers, counsellors and chaplains all work together through our In-patient Unit, Day Hospice, Hospice at Home and across all services to ensure the best quality of life for as long as is possible.
Just a simple phone call to us is sometimes all that is needed to access services, available in the Hospice or in your own home.
