Collections & Collecting Boxes

St Luke’s Hospice are looking for volunteers to help out with ‘Collections’ throughout the year. We are always being invited to organise collections at various Supermarkets throughout Basildon, Wickford, Billericay and the Thurrock areas. These are all inside the main entrance to the supermarkets and we generally collect from 10am through to 4/5pm in the evening. If you are able to help out with this type of collection and can spare a few hours that would be fantastic.

We also have the opportunity to collect in various High Streets during the year. Whilst this isn’t quite as attractive as being inside the supermarket the fresh air is great and you still meet some lovely people.

If you are interested in helping with our collections, full guidance and support will be given. Just a few hours will make such a difference and you will be helping raise much needed funds for St Luke’s.

If you would like to get involved and would like further information, please contact Diane Chester on 01268 524973 ext. 237 or email

Collecting Boxes and Loose Change Boxes

Help St. Luke’s Hospice by converting loose change into services for our patients.

At home use one of our ‘Loose Change Boxes’  and in your office, shop, school or for an event, use one of our ‘Collecting Boxes’ or ‘Buckets’.

For further information on obtaining a Collection Box or a Loose Box contact Diane Chester on 01268 524973  ext. 237 or email

Don’t forget that the brand new £1 coins will replace the current ’round pound’ on March 28 – but you only have until mid October to use up any existing coins you have accumulated.  Should you find yourself with any existing coins after mid October then the Hospice will be more than happy to recycle them on your behalf.
