We are especially proud of our Marathon runners. Our London Marathon runners alone raise over £50,000 towards patient care. Totally incredible. That’s why we’ve created #TeamSLH.
What is #TeamSLH?
#TeamSLH is our collective noun for everyone who runs for St. Luke’s Hospice. The team will be invited to a number of special events we hold for our runners, where you’ll be given a the low-down on everything you need for a successful run, including training tips, nutrition advice, how to avoid injuries and fundraising inspiration. We also hold an annural thank you evening, because we want to make sure you know how brilliant we think you are!
All member of #TeamSLH receive a runner event pack too, including the much coveted St. Luke’s Hospice yellow running vest or t-shirt. You’re sure to stand out when you are out on those early morning runs, not forgetting when we are look for you at the 13 miles marker at the London Marathon.
How will my running help St. Luke’s Hospice?
All sponsorship you raise will go towards the care we provide for people in our community who are faced with the diagnosis of a life-limiting illness. That could be cancer, or any other incurable illness such as heart failure, motor neurone disease or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung failure). From that moment on we will support them with symptom management, counselling, support groups, physiotherapy and our support extends to their family and carers. So every penny you raise will make a difference. We will support you in achieving your fundraising target with ideas and suggestions that work for you.
Sign me up to #TeamSLH!
If you’re running for us – whether it’s a mile or a marathon, we want you on the team. Either choose your event from our website or tell us about the one you’re already signed up to, we’ll do the rest.
You’ll notice we’ve stuck a little hashtag on your team name. Please Tweet/Instagram/Facebook away and #TeamSLH so we can see you all and spread the word about everything you’re doing to support local people with a life limiting illness.
We also support our local community who want to organise their own sporting events such as:- Football tournaments, Bowling events, Golf Days, Darts competitions, Fitness classes etc. If you have something in mind you would love to organise then we would love to help you!
